| History: | Sometimes called Miller Island for Henry W. Miller, a Davis County settler, who used it for herding purposes in this region in 1849, because the shape of this elevation reminded him of a coffin (UT-T41/p.227). Also, a name applied by Capt Howard Stansbury when he saw it during a reconnoitering expedition in the 1860's (US-T41/p.257). |
